What Folk is built for
Lists, contacts, and email-first workflow. The Chrome extension captures contacts from LinkedIn, Gmail, and other surfaces with one click. Contacts can be bulk-grouped into lists with custom fields, then engaged via integrated email sequences.
The product has been used heavily by VCs, agencies, and BD-led startups since 2022.
Strengths
- LinkedIn capture flow. Best-in-class for "save this person to a list" workflows.
- Native email sending. Connect Gmail, send sequences, track replies, all in-app.
- Lists as first-class. Pivot from people to companies to deals without schema gymnastics.
- Pricing transparency. Tiers are clear and predictable.
Limitations
- Not a sales CRM. Pipeline management exists but is light. Forecasting is minimal.
- No deep automation. Workflows are simple compared to HubSpot or Salesforce.
