Best Intent Data Providers 2026: Bombora, 6sense, G2, Demandbase
Best intent data providers for 2026: Bombora, 6sense, G2, Demandbase, TrustRadius. What they actually cover and which one fits your motion.
Intent data has matured from a hype category into a useful input for B2B outbound and ABM. Not all intent data is the same, and the differences between providers matter more than the marketing suggests.
What intent data actually is
Intent data is third-party evidence that an account is researching your category. It comes in two main flavors:
- Topic-based intent: signals based on content consumption across a co-op of publishers. If people at Acme Corp are reading articles about "CRM migration" more than usual, that is a topic intent signal.
- Surge or research intent: signals from review sites, category directories, or comparison platforms. If Acme is viewing competitor pages on G2, that is research intent.
Both are probabilistic. Neither is deterministic buying intent. Both are useful when paired with other signals and human judgment.
Bombora
The largest B2B content-consumption intent provider. Topic taxonomy covers thousands of categories. Co-op-based: publishers share anonymized consumption data, Bombora aggregates and resolves to accounts.
Strengths: Breadth, long track record, widely integrated into other platforms (6sense, Demandbase, Lead411, Sendoso, and many more embed Bombora data).
Weaknesses: Intent interpretability. Topic surges can mean many things; not all surges reflect buying intent. Resolution to accounts depends on co-op membership; coverage varies.
Best for: Teams already using a platform that embeds Bombora. Rarely bought standalone.
6sense
Not a pure intent provider, but 6sense aggregates intent data across sources (including Bombora) and adds proprietary models on top. The value is the processed score, not the raw intent.
See the standalone 6sense review for details. In short, 6sense is the enterprise option when you want intent plus predictive modeling plus orchestration in one platform.
G2 Buyer Intent
G2's intent product surfaces accounts viewing your category and competitor pages on G2. The signal is more specific than Bombora's topic-based intent because it comes from a research behavior on a known-intent surface.
Strengths: Specificity (a G2 category page view is a stronger signal than general topic consumption). Integration with G2 listings. Attributable sales motion.
Weaknesses: Only valuable if your category is active on G2. Only accessible to buyers who pay for G2 category sponsorship. Pricing at the top of the intent category.
Best for: Mid-market and enterprise SaaS in categories with strong G2 presence.
Demandbase and TrustRadius
Demandbase offers intent through its broader ABM platform. Data mix is similar to 6sense (Bombora-style topic plus proprietary sources). See the Demandbase vs 6sense comparison for details.
TrustRadius is a smaller review site with its own intent product. Strengths: higher-value enterprise user base with more technical depth in reviews. Weaknesses: smaller volume than G2.
How to pick
Choose based on three variables:
1. What platform are you buying with it?
Intent data is almost always bundled with a platform (6sense, Demandbase, Lead411, G2 sponsorship). The right intent provider is usually the one embedded in the platform you are otherwise buying.
2. What category are you in?
- Software category with strong G2: G2 Intent is worth evaluating.
- Broader B2B: Bombora-based intent (via a platform) is the default.
- Technical or developer-focused: TrustRadius or G2, plus community-signal tools like Common Room.
3. What motion are you running?
- Pure outbound: intent data is useful but not sufficient. Pair with event-based signals (Satellyte) and contact data.
- ABM orchestration: buy a platform (6sense or Demandbase) that includes intent.
- SEO and organic: G2 sponsorship plus intent is the more relevant package.
No intent data is worth buying as a standalone signal feed for most teams. The value comes from how it integrates into a motion. If you do not have a motion, fix that first; then buy intent to amplify it.
